Long Weekend
How was your Easter long weekend? Hard to believe it’s been a week ago already! We took the time and went for a road trip to the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia with family that we also call great friends.
My husband and I are very fortunate, we own a Yamaha Dealership in our small town of Barrhead, Alberta. We sell fun for a living! Selling fun comes with an obligation though, we make sure everyone else is ready for their trips and don’t get away too often ourselves. It is extremely hard to get away, but when we do, we look for fun, adventure and make memories!
Our Easter long weekend road trip was awesome! We went with my husbands cousin, her husband and their 7 year old son to go snowmobiling in the mountains. The best part of the weekend? The 7 year old had his own sled this year and was incredibly excited to ride his own snowmobile. It was EPIC! Watching him fearlessly climb the mountains was amazing.
We have been to the mountains many, many time since they are practically in our back yard. We don’t get there too often on sleds though, even though we sell them. Since I have only been to the mountains on snowmobiles a few times, so you can’t call me a great rider. My husband on the other hand, is. When he climbs a mountain or descends it looks like an artist with his paintbrush, it truly is amazing and leaves me breathless every time.
Trying New Things
This year we tried something new and I think I found my new favorite ride, although I need some serious work on it. My new favorite ride is a Snow Bike. You take a dirt bike and replace the front wheel with a ski and the back wheel with a track. This thing is AWESOME! It’s like nothing I have ever ridden before!
That’s me to the right >>> making the snow bike look easy. Let me tell you it is not. In the deep snow it is, you can maneuver this machine like a hot knife through butter. On no snow though, it’s a whole different ball game. I may have crashed a few times figuring that out lol! When you fall down, or in my case crash, you shake off the nerves and get back on!
Grabbing the opportunity to enjoy a long weekend is why we work hard, stay fit and stay healthy. To get to live life, go on adventures, try NEW things and create new memories is what’s it’s all about.
We often get stuck in the day to day. Most of us are guilty of this. Addicted to our screens, our phones, our Social Networks. Once in a while though, you have to step away from all of that and just enjoy your surroundings.
